Mother's Day Proclamation
Our Ancestral Muse
The Mother’s Day Proclamation was a call for peace written by suffragette Julia Ward Howe after the American Civil War. Women around the world responded, and in 1878 the first International Congress of Women was convened in Paris.
In 1915, under the guidance of suffragette Jane Addams, the congress rebranded as Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom (WILPF) – the oldest women’s group in the world.
In 2024, the Founding Mothers reimagined the Women’s Congress. If you are a female leader, please register for Congress today. Global Delegates are gathering monthly to collaborate, coordinate, and implement the Founding Mothers strategic plan.
Yes, this is super ambitious. But the polycrisis requires us to think BIG and we CAN do this. Technology makes it possible for us to gather virtually. Let's shift the paradigm!
